Code of Conduct Blooming Pets
Pet Sitter Code of Conduct
Committing to pet sitting for one or more animals, whether for a walk or several days, is a rewarding experience, but also a great responsibility.
As a pet sitter, it is important to take this commitment seriously and to follow the established rules of conduct to ensure the well-being and safety of the animal or animals in your care.
- As a pet sitter, I undertake to provide only accurate information on my profile, including my real first and last names, a recent photo, and as much information as possible about my knowledge and experience with animals. To this end, I will provide Blooming Pets with proof of identity, which will be used solely to verify my identity and the information on my profile.
- I formally undertake to comply with all regulations and legislation in force relating to the exercise of my animal care activity.
- I undertake to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety, comfort, hygiene and well-being of the animals in my care.
- I undertake to strictly comply with the instructions given by the owner and not to do anything without the owner's express consent, such as letting the cats out of the house or riding the horses, for example.
- I will never leave animals in my care alone in the presence of children or strangers.
- I visit the animals alone, unless the owner gives their consent for me to be accompanied.
- Without the owner's written permission, outside their home, I will always keep animals on a lead or long line.
- During my shifts, I will regularly provide updates on the animals to their owners: text messages, photos, or videos...
- At the end of the agreed visiting period, I will contact the owner to ensure that they will soon be reunited with their pet or pets.
- I will regularly update and add to my availability for babysitting.
- I undertake to sign a service contract with the owner of the animals before each pet sitting assignment.
- I undertake to meet the animals and their owners before committing to pet sitting.
- I undertake to declare the sums received to the tax authorities.
Code of Conduct for Pet Owners
When you decide to have your pets looked after, you must do your utmost to ensure that everything goes smoothly between your pet sitter and your pets. As the owner, you have a key role to play in ensuring the well-being of your pets.
- As an owner, I undertake to provide all relevant information about my pets in order to avoid any issues. This includes their eating habits, exercise requirements, special care needs, any fears they may have and their behaviour. This information must be shared via your account in the My Profile / My Pets section.
- I make sure to leave the pet sitter everything they need to take care of my pets: house keys, sufficient food supplies, treats, brush, leash, medication, equipment, vet's telephone numbers, etc.
- When I entrust my pets to the pet sitter of my choice, I agree to be available by telephone in case of emergency. I ensure that the pet sitter has my telephone numbers and that I can be easily reached. If I cannot be contacted, I designate a trusted person who can act on my behalf.
- I undertake to meet pet sitters before booking them for a pet sitting assignment in order to answer all their questions, show them where to find supplies and equipment in the house, and give them a tour of the house so that they feel comfortable.
